Import site elements by uploading a CAD file (DWG) and define advanced parameters for overhead lines (OHL)

In July, we have released the CAD file importer (DWG) for importing site elements, which enables a rapid integration between sites defined in CAD and RatedPower. Additionally, advanced parameters are now available for the definition of overhead lines.

New features

  • Import site elements by uploading a CAD file (DWG): users can now import site elements from CAD files into Interactive Site Creation (ISC), in order to streamline the process of importing a site that was defined in a CAD file into RatedPower. We have included a new file format in the "Import Site Elements" modal where you will import dwg. files (CAD format). There is a specific process you will need to follow in the import process due to the nature of the CAD files. Once the import process is finished, you will be conducted to ISC as per usual.

  • Advanced OHL Parameters: users will now be able to configure extra parameters on their OHL, these include: Pollution Level, Right of Way Buffer width and Target Span.

Bug fixes and improvements

  • Fixed a bug that was giving an error when structures with earthworks were very close to the substation.
  • Size properly the containers of the switching and breaking station based on the capacity they receive, instead of having a fixed size. This ensures that the sizes displayed in the overview tab and general layout are consistent with the layout of the containers.
  • Filter deleted designs/projects from Favourites tab.
  • Fixed a bug that was not respecting the cable selection for the overhead line.
  • Improvement of minimization of losses recalculate to consider inner facilities in the same manner the calculation model does. Inner facilities will always be prioritized for the distribution of capacity.
  • Improvement of input and output switching and breaking station cabling by undoing crossings whenever possible.
  • Fixed a bug that was not showing correctly the results of Financial KPIs for older designs.
  • Fixed a bug that was moving a tiny road when splitting it, causing an error.
  • Fixed a bug that was giving an error when generating the perimeter MV cables between severed subareas.
  • Fixed a bug that was giving an empty Available Area due to an error when calculating the fences.
  • Improvement of IRR calculation, replacing discounted free cash flow with free cash flow.
  • Fixed a bug that was giving an error when a string was located very close to a RA.

  • Fixed a bug that was giving an error when connecting areas with MV lines for specific designs with a flexible interconnection schema.

  • Change font size, font family and colours of tables in xlsx documents and docx reports.

  • Fixed a bug that was giving an error when there were very small holes (as RAs) defined in the site.
  • Add missing cable sections as CAPEX units.
  • Fixed a bug that was not listing correctly substations and switching and breaking stations in Design and Energy reports when there were switching and breaking station polygons defined.
  • Fixed a bug that was placing the logo of RatedPower out of the engineering box of the General layout document for big photovoltaic plants which required A1 templates.
  • Improvement of the algorithm for grouping structures and placing roads around them to improve quality of layout and ease development of future features.
  • Improvement of the algorithm for defining surrounding roads to solve a bug that was giving errors in some simulations.
  • Fixed a bug that was blocking the illustrations given in the Energy Results xlsx file, adding also some letters that were missing.
  • Fixed wrong format for some rows in Bill Of Quantities excel file, which were not using Arial 12.
  • Fixed IRR chart in Financial Analysis document, which shows "payback" instead of "discounted payback".
  • Replaced "Potenza picco (DC)" with "Capacità (DC)" in italian AC BESS report document.
  • Fixed some financial KPIs that were mistranslated in japanese and chinese.
