What does the maximum number of circuits per polarity mean?

The number of circuits per polarity (if DC) or phase (if AC) will determine the number of circuits in which a certain current is going to be divided. Basically, there could be instances where possibly even the highest cross-section available is not enough for the current to be evacuated. In such cases, you will need to use more than 1 circuit per polarity or phase.
