What is the difference between a single-core and multi-core cable?

There are quite some differences between single and multi-core cables. Here are some:
  • Conductor: A single-core cable has only one conductor, whereas a multi-core has multiple conductors. Each conductor is insulated and can carry a different electrical power.
  • Size: Single-core cables are slightly larger in size than multi-core cables.
  • Installation: Single-core cables are generally easier to install than multi-core cables.
